As of March 2015, the Vancouver Outdoor School will maintain and utilize 10 garden plots off Commercial Drive in East Vancouver for its outdoor learning programs with schools, organizations and day camps.
The plots were generously provided by Shifting Growth, which aims to transform vacant lots into temporary community gardens and growing spaces.
“These garden plots offer so much opportunity for the students, teachers and organizations we work with,” says Calder Cheverie, VOS Program Director. “We’re already planning to deliver Surrey School District’s new farm credit program at the site.”
