Your Friendly Neighbourhood Adventure Experts: Since 2020, we’ve led over 1500 Adventure days in every corner of Metro Vancouver. Our full-time staff team are out there five days per week, 11 months per year, dividing their time between our sister company Fireside Adventures and the VOS Fieldschool. Hiking, biking, skiing, sailing, skiing, camping, paddling, parkour, skating, curling, building, orienteering, geocaching, cooking, tinkering… to name a few. Now, we’re extending our favourite, tried-and-true adventures to Pro-Day adventurers.
What defines our Pro-D Day Adventures?
❌ NOT a cookie cutter kiddie camp run by teens and seasonal staff
❌ NOT sitting around some park all day making mud pies (no disrespect to mud pies)
✅ Community Outdoor Experiential Education (COEE) with an emphasis on project-based learning
✅ High novelty: dynamic field trips across the Lower Mainland with a focus on wonder
✅ Skilled educators & wilderness guides facilitating life & leadership skill-building
✅ Land-based learning, bushcraft & environmental stewardship
✅ Parkour filmmaking & photography, wilderness performing arts, & urban art

$215 +GST /day for 3 days
$235 +GST for 1 day
Fees include:
- Transportation to and from all activities.
- 12 flexible drop-off options around Metro Van
- All admission and equipment
- Daily updates including photos, videos, written recaps, and correspondence with instructors.
- “Real” drop-in system and flexible registration
- Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (age 13+) Certified Activity Provider

Fieldschool instructors (1:6 ratio). Instructors hold a post-secondary degree, an ECE degree, or equivalent. All lead instructors on overnights are WFA certified.
A word from the Director: We never really focused on Pro-D days in the past because they seemed like “small potatoes” compared to our larger-scale operations. However, I hear more and more from our parents about how kids are feeling discouraged and disconnected. Luckily, kids don’t need much to bounce back. I have seen firsthand, many times in our Fieldschool, how a kid can take a single day of positive adventure and use that momentum to tide them over to the next adventure. It makes things easier. So, I decided to open our doors to Pro-D learners. That Pro-D day is just the start… there will be many more opportunities to connect.

Programs for every step of the way to a thriving young adulthood
As your child progresses through their childhood, they need the right program for each step of the way and a team of consistent adult mentors along for the whole journey.
At Fieldschool and our sister companies Fireside Adventures and Vancouver Youth Leadership Centre, we focus on an entire childhood, not just one or two specific times in a child’s life.
Between the Trees Mentorship: 1:1 mentorship for Neurodiverse learners focused on building life and social skills and integrating into Fieldschool and/or spring/summer camp.
Vancouver Youth Leadership Centre: Small-group and 1:1 mentorship for Young Adults, helping them connect to like-minded peers and launch into post-secondary education and employment.
Elevate Ed Specialized Tutoring (NEW!): A consistent theme with our Fieldschool families has been ensuring that their learners are supported in their academics as the majority are home learners. To support this need, we are collaborating with Arashdeep, a certified teacher, to provide academic tutoring on Tuesday-Friday, during Fieldschool hours.
Fireside Adventures: Spring and summer camps, & leadership courses.. from kids day camps to 21-day expeditions, from our BC backyard to Fiji, Italy, and the Yukon. We cater to all ages and experience levels.
Fieldschool project: Groups of 10 learners who explore Metro Vancouver on weekdays.
Our story
20 years of putting kids first with wonder-driven, out-of-the-box outdoor experiential education
Where it all began…
It all started 4 years ago during the pandemic. Many families from our sister company, Fireside Adventures, called us to ask “please take my kid outside, exploring, learning and socializing… they are driving me nuts!!”. So we said, “why not? We’d been creating dynamic outdoor experiences for 20 years… why not do some field trips! And so Fieldschool was born. Good times… awesome stories and lots of laughs (and some tears)… but we really didn’t think Fieldschool would last more than four months. Pandemic over, back to regular life, right?
Four years and counting… Fieldschool has seen a lot of upgrades including:
- Consistent pickup and drop-off location but still exploring a new place each day via foot, bike, bus, Skytrain, van, even scooter!
- Community partnerships to add consistency and increase our range of expert programming options (we visit these places during Fieldschool). Including Intuitive Art Beat (visual arts), Flight Club (parkour) and Cherry Lane Farm.
- Accelerated 1:1 supported integration into Fieldschool via Between the Trees Mentorship
- Support and connection for older learners through our Vancouver Youth Leadership Centre
